2004 Toyota Tundra Camping World Series Nascar Truck
Very rare opportunity to own a fully operational and legitimate Nascar with period correct engine etc. Originally Mike Skinners truck back in 2004 and built by RHE (Ronnie Hopkins Enterprise) for the opening season of the Camping World Series and then sold to Eddie Sharp Racing. The truck chassis also has a TRD Motorsport chassis tag TRD-ST-005. Truck was fitted with the 358CI 5.86L Roush Yates V8 engine featuring a 5 stage dry sump system and now a brand new tremec 5 speed triple plate gearbox which now is properly suited to track racing, we have fitted a brand new MSD unit along with all new spark plugs also. The truck has a nascar official upgraded sway bar setup, full 9" rear end with wilwood rear brakes and front PFC brakes. All oils have been changed, joints regreased, chassis set up, new carburettor. Engine is healthy and starts first pop every time, oil is heated up and has 55 to 60psi when racing, PWR Radiator, Spare wheels and tyres, winter tyres are included also in the sale. Last owner did the land speed record here in nz getting 260kph one way in the wet with a rooster tail! It was super impressive!!
We then took the car over painted it up and got it compliant to MSNZ rules getting a logbook and homologation number for it. Cage has been modified in terms of taking the centre section out to put a passenger seat in which I can organise if you wish to have one. OMP race seat with NZKW Harnesses, original seat I do have still but wasn't compliant for nz at the time I have it checked out. The car has huge potential and now it's not just a useless shell with a good engine to put into another car, I have gone through every hoop to make this car able to race in this country so now it has a very very good chance of becoming something unique and cool. I have used this at Hampton downs for GTRNZ and it was so much fun but scary!!! The car weighs 1400kg and has around 800hp so making the power to weight ratio of 571.43hp per tonne. We have fitted LED lights to the front with brake light switch and brake lights for the rear.
Happy to talk to anyone who is genuinely interested. Happy for trades, swaps and deals. Whatever you have let me know, I am a racer and a builder so always up for different things.
You won't be disappointed at all. This is genuinely a 1 of 1. Also featured in March/April 2026 NZV8 Magazine with a 3 page feature.
