This car has a Certificate of Description (T&C Gp2 category A) and has been accepted into the Classic Motor Racing Club’s pre78 class. All modifications are LTSA certified; the car is now running the original Triumph gearbox and registration is on hold. It was built in 2010 and raced in HVRA. When the original driver retired it went into a Motor Museum and I purchased it in 2022. It came with
Ported, polished, hardened head, Carillo forged pistons, machined 1850 donor block with new rods and Sprintspeed block strengthening plate allowing revs to 7,500. STR139 Group A camshaft, vernier cam sprocket, 32 degree max magnetic distributor, twin Dellorto 45DHLA carbs re-jetted. 148 HP at wheels on 98 octane gas.

2024 Engine rebuild: As above with replacement 1850 crack tested donor block, Sprintspeed block strengthening plate, replacement crank, new oil pump and competition PRV, new electric water pump, timing chain tensioner, chain and guides, distributor cap, and oil cooler. Sprintspeed stainless steel rolled thread competition head studs to allow accurate tensioning. Original head crack tested and refitted using a Payen gasket. Steady 60psi oil pressure.

Cooling: Porsche alloy radiator fully serviced during 2024 engine rebuild, electric fan with cockpit switch, manifold pressure gauge, alloy header tank and over flow. No overheating or head gasket problems.
Electrical: Replacement magnetronic ignition 2023, new electronic kill switch system and battery cabling, starter reconditioned and new alternator 2022.
Gearbox: Dolomite 4 speed with overdrive on 2, 3, and 4 operated by toggle switch on gear shift (see photo), Sprintspeed lightened flywheel and twin plate clutch.
Suspension etc: Rear suspension upgraded by Elite Race Engineering 2023 with new springs, custom Koni adjustable dampers. Bilstein front shocks, adjustable sway bar. Quickrack steering. Rear axle is Ford 3L Capri 4.1:1 LSD with uprated half shafts.
Brakes: power assisted, braided hoses, Wilwood 4 pot front callipers with Endless RCP110ME22 pads and 255mm BMW vented rotors (both replaced 3 meetings ago), rear 9” drums.
Wheels: 14” x 6 powder coated Triumph wheels with heavy duty studs. 5 near new tyres.
Interior: Belts within expiry date. Gauges: oil temp and pressure, water temp and manifold pressure, 20 psi oil pressure warning system, new rev counter with shift light. Electronic kill switch on dash. Extensive homologated cage with side intrusion protection.
Spares: head (standard with valves etc) new Payen head gasket and extra replacement gaskets for the cam cover when clearances need checking.
