1989 NA Mazda MX-5, matte black with JPS-style gold livery, multiple race winner, 2023 and 2025 series champion: 6 wins from its last 11 races and won its last race, March 2025.
Won 16 races and 34 podiums over last 3 years, multiple lap record holder.
Sold as it won/came off track from the Ruapuna round of MX-5 Heritage Cup, March 2025 (plus new/straight bonnet).
Mechanically excellent, refreshed throughout: 1.6L with all series spec parts, skimmed head and head gasket and valve stem seals (done 2025), Loch Stewart $500 intake system, new Mazda head bolts racing cam belt, new water pump, cam cover gasket, new intake/exhaust gaskets, new CAS and various seals.
Full gold braided HEL brake and clutch lines.
2024-new GAZ Gold coilovers, MSNZ roll cage. XL Jamex race seat, Sparco pedals for easy heel-toe, USB and USB-C plugs, extinguisher, 5pt harness, safety gear etc. last log book audited Feb ‘25.
195/50R15 Hankook RS4 tyres (worn), transmission tunnel mods to move seat in/back to better suit tall drivers (up to 6ft3/190cm). Approx 880kg without driver and low fuel (960kg is series minimum).
Refreshed gearbox and shifter bushes (2023), and rebuilt VLSD diff (2024). Ready for Manfeild winter series.
Body is racecar average, has bumps and bruises, rattle-can paint job, matte black makes it easy to cover/repair (new can included). New windscreen (2024), plus soft cabin cover for light rain/weather protection.
Motorsport NZ log book plus service/parts history log since 2022. Almost $20k spent getting it fast and reliable.
